Recently we were visited by our one of the alumni who made finance field as his career, Raghav Mittal. He was a student of mathematics and computing department at IIT Guwahati.He took an off-campus placement in his time and went further with it. 1. He began with certifications from online courses, internship, job, and MBA. 2. According to him, the 'secret sauce' was : 1. Reading 2. Networking 3. Take online courses at various sites like udacity, edx, coursera, khan academy and CFA Program . 4. Do internships 5. Jobs - The place you get the real taste of things to do. 6. About MBA, one must be clear whether he wants to continue after job or do it just after the college. 7. Career Paths - Bachelors in Engineering/Finance/Mathematics.
